All About Provo: The Center of Luxury in Turks & Caicos

Turks & Caicos as a whole is a pretty stunning place, but Providenciales – or Provo as it's known by locals, brings the glam factor up a notch. With lavish 5 star resorts & pristine beaches, this is the perfect place for a luxury vacation when you're looking to travel in style. So, it's no surprise that this island has been ranked "Best Beach" by Condé Nast magazine for several years in a row, according to the Turks & Caicos Tourist Board. Whether you're interested in shopping, sightseeing or simply sunbathing on the white sand, Provo is the place to get a taste of the luxe life.

These are just a few of the area's must-see spots & attractions:

To see Stunning stretches of sand & breathtaking views of the ocean are everywhere you look in Provo. However, Grace Bay is especially notable, with incomparable sunsets that look like something you'd see on a postcard. This is definitely the beach to come to for photo ops & long walks, but if you get bored, there are also plenty of activities to keep you busy. From parasailing & kayaking to paddleboarding, you'll definitely find some aquatic excitement.

To do History buffs will rejoice in Provo. While not all of the island's ruins are accessible to visitors, Cheshire Hall cotton plantation is a fascinating place to explore in itself. Some of the original plantation's buildings from the late 1700s still stand, & you can wander through the great house, kitchen & even observe the antique machinery up close.

If you'd rather spend your time playing craps than in a cotton plantation, Provo has a few casinos worth visiting. The Casblanca Casino has a low-key vibe, which means you can play blackjack, slots & other games without any pressure.

To eat Dining may very well be the highlight of your trip to Provo. While there are a multitude of quality restaurants, you should definitely stop by Coyaba for innovative & delectable cuisine in a relaxed environment. Right off Grace Bay Road, this establishment is a foodie's dream. The menu consists of Caribbean fusion fare, like adobo marinated maple leaf duck, & a 12-hour merlot braised conch Bolognese. For a romantic meal, don't miss Magnolia, which is situated on a hill that overlooks the charming Turtle Cove. As you sit on the wooden deck & look out over the light-rimmed balcony, you can savor dishes like pistachio-crusted chicken breast or bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin with a sweet chorizo stuffing. You might not be able to resist the restaurant's signature dish, though: a sesame-crusted rare seared tuna with jasmine rice & soy ginger sauce.
